This Privacy Policy explains how CintaCinta ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the CintaCinta mobile application and the website at www.cintacinta.id (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
CintaCinta is a social and dating platform that helps people in Southeast Asia meet new people, chat across languages with real-time translation, and build meaningful connections. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@cintacinta.id.
2. Information we collect
a. Information you provide. Account identifiers such as your email address or WhatsApp phone number used to sign in; profile information such as your name/nickname, age, gender, self-introduction, and profile photos; your preferred reading language; and any content you create, including chat messages, moments (posts), images, voice messages, and comments.
b. Location information. With your permission, we collect your device's GPS location to show people nearby, enable same-city chat rooms, and display approximate distance. You can change or refresh your location in the app, and you can disable location access in your device settings.
c. Photos, camera and microphone. With your permission, we access your camera, photo library, and microphone so you can upload photos, send images and voice messages, scan QR codes, and make video calls.
d. Usage and device information. We collect technical data such as device model, operating system, app version, language settings, log data, and identifiers needed to deliver push notifications (for example, Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens).
e. Information from third-party login. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive basic profile information that the provider shares with your consent.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you (including one-time passwords sent to your email or WhatsApp);
- To operate core features: people nearby, same-city chat, video discovery and calls, moments, friend requests, and private messaging;
- To provide real-time message translation into your preferred reading language;
- To offer optional AI photo enhancement when you choose to use it;
- To deliver notifications according to the schedule you set (all day, custom hours, or off);
- To keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Translation processing
To provide cross-language chat, message text may be sent to our translation service and, where applicable, to trusted machine-translation providers solely to generate a translation. Translations are returned to the relevant participants and may be cached on your device to improve your experience.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With other users: your profile, photos, moments, distance, online status, and the messages you send are visible to the people you interact with, as designed by the feature you use.
- With service providers: cloud hosting, storage, push notification, email/SMS/WhatsApp delivery, and translation providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of users or the public.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Direct-message media may be automatically deleted after a defined retention period. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except records we must retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and update: edit your profile, photos, and preferences at any time in the app.
- Location and permissions: control camera, microphone, photo, and location access from your device settings.
- Notifications: choose your notification schedule or turn notifications off.
- Account deletion: permanently delete your account and associated data at cintacinta.id/account-delete after signing in, or from within the app.
8. Children
The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), token-based authentication, and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. We take steps to ensure your data is protected wherever it is processed.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be notified within the app.
